Veteran Fox News reporter Jennifer Griffin, was lambasted by presidential tweets yesterday, after she verified elements of an article by the Atlantic Monthly. For a reporter on Fox, she had done the unthinkable, by abandoning blind loyalty and stating actual facts about Trump instead.
“When he spoke about the Vietnam War, President Trump said, ‘It was a stupid war. Anyone who went was a sucker,’ “
By verifying this simple line spoken by a simpleton, Griffin drove a literary combat boot into the barely discernible scrotum of the president.
“Jennifer Griffin has a head that looks like a used Q-Tip, tweeted Trump, in a carefully worded rebuttal of her report. “She is not my type at all and probably wears boxer shorts after Labor Day.”
While some reporters at Fox became entangled as if in a game of Twister, in their rush to defend the president and attack Griffin, others stood up for her journalistic excellence. “Good journalism is seldom on display where we work”, said national correspondent Bryan Llenas. “Jennifer is smart, courageous, ethical and fair. She’s a class act.”
Others echoed his praise for their veteran colleague.
“Loser, loser, LOSER !!!!”, tweeted the president in response, reaching into his near empty sack of vocabulary and triggering a rush of Trump supporters adding new bumper stickers to their already well feathered pickup trucks: “Trump 2020: Loser, Loser, LOSER!
