Announced on the news last night was the beginning of “March Madness”. Apparently similar in some respects to the Mardi Gras of New Orleans, this “Madness” consists of legions of persons afflicted with pituitary dysfunction careening up and down a wooden platform while attempting to force an unlubricated rubber ball through a metal hoop to the unbridled cheers of mentally impaired onlookers. This display of aberrant behavior is televised and obviously targeted at the same groups of viewers who gaze in slack jawed fascination at the contents of clothes dryers spinning around at the local laundromat.
