What is this trending behavior of groping women and girls on public transit? Apparently it’s a huge problem in “those countries” and also the UK, but I’m not aware of it being much of an issue here.
The transaction seems to go like this: jam packed rail car, women packed in with men, standing shoulder to shoulder, hand of unknown origin snakes from between the crush of bodies and palpates female flesh at will. The crush of humanity is such that the victim can’t even turn around, much less defend herself.
The reaction of the authorities in countries where the problem is rampant is primarily the introduction of “female only” carriages on trains. This has led, predictably, to emotionally stunted men in third world countries frantically groping themselves and each other.
The groping phenomenon seems psychologically to be a phase teen boys go through and then eventually outgrow, at least in this country. Those who don’t are occasionally caught embarrassingly on security cameras manhandling cantaloupes at the local Sprouts market.
